The Coalition for a Healthy Community – Oxford Area and the Hope Cooperative also participate in 2 medication disposal events on DEA Drug Takeback Days every year. Follow us on social media for more details.
Community Impact:
- Social Emotional Learning in Talawanda Schools
- SBIRT trainings (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment)
- Wednesday Harm Reduction Sites for local communities
- Peer Support Programs (DeCoach services available 3 days/ week at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital)
- Funding the Community Prevention Initiatives Coordinator and the activities of the Coalition for a Healthy Community – Oxford Area
- Invested in the Psychology Clinic and Telehealth Rooms at Miami University
- Created the Specialty Referral Coordinator Position for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders
- Purchased Narcan, safety, and hygiene supplies for community events
- Hosting an anti-stigma campaign to promote mental wellness and recovery
- Promoting telehealth services and providing access to equipment
- Addressing transportation barriers in the school district
- Mobilizing community voices through surveys and committee involement
- Supporting health and safety trainings for members of local law enforcement
- Safe medication disposal events, deactivation bags, and safe storage options
